Letter To Class (Monday, March 9, 2009)

There are a few issues that I wish to bring up, and I hope the class will be clear enough. No more nonsense.
You guys can have fun, but please do know your limit.
People accuse me of being harsh to the class, but I need to make this clear. I have been assigned in charge of this class's
discipline matters, and I will go to any length to complete my task. I do not get angry with the class that easily.
The reason why you all keep making me mad is because, talking nicely simply doesn't work. Simply put, I try to talk to you
guys nicely but you people simply do not cooperate and simply do not listen. Only then do i get angry. I hope it is
understood that if somebody is trying to give instructions or make an announcement, please listen. Without talking. The
person in front might not show it, but he/ her will appreciate your silence so that he/ she can talk.
Also, the next thing that I want to bring up has regards to what happened to today's CE lesson. I don't care about any
problem that the class has with me or not. What Jaime said is right: You guys are a class, you guys better act as a class.
I don't care who is standing up there giving instructions, but you guys better have a sense of respect for authority, no
matter whether is it your classmate or a teeacher standing in front. People don't like to raise their voice. They never do.
It you people who do not listen and do not cooperate, causing the speaker to become flustered and end up shouting. Teachers
think that we are the most rowdy class among all the Sec 3s. I dare you guys to prove them wrong. Show them just rightous you
can be. Each and every single one of you. Never, ever, talk in class. There are seriously people who crave to learn more in
class. Do not deprive them of it. Just keep quiet and let them absorb the knowledge. If you feel that you are not interested
in the class, simply keep quiet. There is absolutely no need to talk to the person beside you. Furthermore, it is totally
impossible for anyone to study in a noisy environment. Do not ever give the nonsense about "All for one, One for all." If you
make noise, you drag the whole class down. Do you seriously expect the whole class to fail in the exams with you? Do not be
selfish. Always think for others. If you wish to talk, talk after class, during recess or after school.
Hence I come to my next point. You people can joke, I have no problems with that. But. Know when to open your mouth, at
the right time, giving the right answer. Some of you can still joke when the teacher is in front scolding the class. And then
you guys end up in even more trouble. Same thing applies. When the teacher is asking you a common sense question, just give
the answer that she expects and get over with it. Don't create unnecessary trouble for yourself. Besides, when the teacher is
scolding the class, please talk in a proper manner. If you use that freak voice to speak and reply to the teahcer, she will
think that you do not regard her, and it is a sign of rudeness.
Next. Relevant to what I said before, respect authority. Please do not ignore whoever who is speaking in front. Like
what Miss Tan said earlier today, those who are trying hard to make things work in the class, please don't give up. Keep
trying. I've been seriously having lots of headaches with you class. I don't even know why I should keep trying when you
people do not even listen. Please give me a reason that I can let go and let you guys be self-disciplined enough to handle
yourselves. Problem is, you guys simply don't show it and expect me to let ok and stop controlling the class. Just count the
number of times that I need to tell the class to keep quiet. It is apparent that the class's situational awareness is very
low. Last time I took MC, I came back with four teachers complaining. Is there any way you guys can control yourselves?
I hope not to see anymore of such behaviour in the class. Even if it can be immediate, please try to slowly learn of the
proper conduct in school.

The post above as mentioned is by tinfung. After reading that, please, do not flame him. It is actually quite meaningful, just the way you look at it.
Think through it. Some words or sentences in that post might be helpful.
